Connecting People
Connecting people, and women in particular, is at the heart of Divine Women Creative Studio. Our mission is to create, nurture and sustain an ever-expanding circle of women who participate in the cycle of design, creation, marketing, purchase and enjoyment of handcrafted, artisanal objects which express a rich inner experience of their unique story and divine center. This means that we welcome you and whichever role(s) you choose to adopt in our circle of women: contributing artist/designer, storyteller, customer, handcrafting or needleworking expert or student, etc...
Our vision is to create an online place where expressions of our individual and collective inner experiences are not only shared, but also grounded through our handwork. If you are an artist and/or designer working in any or all of the media we feature in our products – beads, yarn, fabric, for example – or have an idea for something that will fit well with both our line of products and concepts, let us know. To submit a pattern and/or design for our consideration, please begin by downloading our Artist Guidelines PDF (coming soon). Profiles of artists and designers already in our Divine Women creative circle can be found in our Resources pages.
Future plans for expansion of Divine Women Creative Studio, include, as soon as feasible, establishing a ‘bricks and mortar’ store to welcome you with an abundance of fabric, yarn and beads, as well as classes. It will include a creative studio space for you to work on your projects and commune with other like-hearted women.
Besides crochet, sewing & beaded jewelry kits and patterns, we offer, or plan to soon offer, for those who prefer to simply purchase handcrafted items, stunning ready-made versions of our products – one-of-a-kind jewelry, versatile handbags, beaded belts, elegant capes/wraps & other accessories, as well as unique designer clothing and items for the home – fiber baskets and boxes, for example. These will be created by various artists and designers, and manufactured either by the artists themselves, by women in America or overseas cooperatives who are paid fair wage for their labor, or at fair trade factories.
One of our dreams is to establish a Divine Women’s Guild – a non-profit foundation or guild which will be open to membership for all persons working in creative, administrative, teaching and manufacturing aspects of our company. The guild will act as screening organization to ascertain skill level for women wishing to manufacture Divine Women products as well as offer educational opportunities for non-members desiring to improve their skills – in handcrafting, in life in general, or in order to join Divine Women Creative Studio as a designer and/or manufacturer.
