The personality: dramatic
Key characteristics
Dramatic, thinker, ambitious, intelligent, organized, confident, logical .
The archetype
Imagine yourself in a winter wonderland: the earth is clothed in cool snow, and life, it seems, has gone underground. There are stark, intense contrasts in the landscapes of this majestic season, characterized by defined lines and a certainly of purpose as it protects the earth’s lifeblood, centered deep down, hidden from view.
If yours is the Starlight archetype, you are intense, strong, and centered, with a self-assured manner that makes you noticeable in a crowd. You are ambitious, reliable in a crisis, and despise disloyalty in others. You are hearty, frank and decisive – and get what you want in life, especially in material terms.
You are intelligent, a good organizer and a born leader you have the ability to remain detached and objective, never letting sentiment obscure the greater good, nor wasting time on academic questions. As a Starlight, you may seem cold and arrogant, as you have a deep confidence in your own pragmatism and ability to get things done.
In a successful position, you will be respected and admired, but often not greatly loved because your lack of sentimentality may be seen as a lack of caring.
Subordinate personality styles
Although the theory is that we each identify with a particular archetypal color palette, the reality is that, given that we are each unique, a pure archetype is rarely found. This is to say, it is rare to find a person who would have chosen all Starlight answers, for example, on our color test. The one to which you had the second most number of answers is your subordinate personality style.
As Angela Wright, creator of the Colour Affects system reminds us, “although each of us falls absolutely into one of the patterns, we are all tempered by subordinate influences of another pattern. So, for example, the influence of Morninglight could make the expressions of a basically Firelight pattern lighter, both visually and in the personality, than the archetype. One could be quite attracted to Morninglight perfumes, plenty of light, blonde wood and lots of plants growing in the home, but still be linked absolutely to Firelight.”
With this in mind, here are the characteristics and effects of each subordinate influences on the Starlight personality:
Pure Starlight:
Your practical realism means that you have a natural flair for business or mechanics. Although you find it difficult to motivate yourself to undertake seemingly pointless tasks, you will apply yourself when necessary. You enjoy administration and organization, but in order to be successful, you must remember to be sensitive to other people’s opinions and feelings.
Firelight subordinate:
You have strong theoretical tendencies and love to solve problems using logical analysis. Your interests tend to be clearly defined and you are more interested in ideas than in making small talk, which makes you seem extremely quiet and reserved. You need to feel useful.
Dreamlight subordinate
You are deeply interested in how mechanical things work - cause, effect, and logic. You like to observe and analyze life quietly, with detached curiosity. Your occasional flashes of original humor can take others by surprise!
Morninglight subordinate
You are usually good at anything that requires reasoning and intelligent talk, such as public speaking. You are well informed and enjoy adding to your fund of knowledge.
