aphroditelongRadiant Aphrodite's Letter

Aphrodite, goddess of beauty and love is the essence of the divine feminine, and the inspiration for our Radiant Aphrodite necklace, a simple beaded crochet necklace, the pattern for which is available for download FREE. We also have, of course, KITS and will custom make one for you in any of our four colorways. This is what we imagine her message to us would be as you or I create this simply elegant necklace:

Dear Sisters of Love,

I have a challenge for you: will you have the audacity to emerge from the ordinary which surrounds you, go beyond the norms of current standards of beauty, and join me in an expression of joy and deep, precious love and beauty?

If you are willing to take on this challenge, I would like to suggest that we start with making a simple necklace, and call upon two of my favorite symbols in crafting it: the dove and the pearl.

This is how I imagine it: a necklace, as you know, is a self-enclosing circle, which symbolizes companionship and social contact, something the white dove naturally seeks. The dove is also, of course, a symbol of purity and a bearer of peace, and, to me, there is nothing more peaceful or pure than the deepest emanation of love and beauty: the meeting of soul and body in joy and orgasmic ecstasy! And mind you, by this I certainly don’t mean the decadent orgy and sexual promiscuity that has come to be associated with me!

As for the pearl, like the diamond, being so difficult to find, it is exclusive, precious, feminine - and perfect. In its perfection, it often symbolizes the spiritualization of matter.

Now, how’s that for packed symbolism? It doesn’t actually matter whether you use ‘real’ pearls or sparkling glass to adorn your circling necklace - just be sure to wear it with joy and playful charm!

I have a further suggestion: as you craft your necklace, summon my companions and followers, the Three Graces - Joy, Flowering and Brilliance. They are responsible for weaving my garments, bathing, perfuming and adorning me - which is their way of bringing grace, joy and good humor to me, as it would likely to you.

Oh, and I do hope that this is only one little burst of radiance in your lifelong expression of joy, love and beauty!

Yours in grace and love,

Aphrodite
